The Enneagram and the 9 Enneapatypes

Communication. This is what we talk about most in our time, which is growing fastest: email, SMS, MMS, social networks … Everything is good to communicate. And yet, we are often unable to express ourselves and especially to make ourselves understood.

Why is it so difficult to communicate with others? How to turn this difficulty into an easy one?

If this seems complicated to us, it’s because we are not experts in “being human”. We do not learn that on school benches. So sometimes we need help to find out what we have not learned, and who blocks us in our relationships, whether professional or private.

We often feel so much like others, and at the same time so different, that we do not know what language to use to be heard.

The others have the same problem with us.

We surprise ourselves by our excessive reactions in a given situation.

We ask ourselves questions:

– Why did I get mad, it really was not worth it!

– Why did I assault my colleague, my husband, my girlfriend… ? She has nothing to do with this story.

Our emotions overwhelm us and we have disproportionate, unjustified reactions.

We are an enigma for ourselves.

The enneagram will help us to come out of systematic judgment to adapt it to yourself and especially to others.

The Enneagram is not a reductive method that encloses people in boxes, it seeks instead to bring them out.

The Enneagram is a tool of self-knowledge.

How ?

The Enneagram allows us to understand how unconscious mechanisms have shaped us.

We will know each other more by discovering the Enneaatype to which we belong: the qualities and the defects that go with it.

Then, we will discover our deep motivations as well as our emotional and behavioral responses in situations of security or insecurity and what we tend to when we move or we regress. Indeed, each situation can generate one of the characters that inhabit us.

The Enneagram allows us to predict our reaction or automatic behavior in front of stress.

It tells us about the motivations of individuals (what makes them do things), not about what they do, and tells us why. It is a typology of motivations (and not behaviors).

Everything is movement. Us too…
